    - Mainly grinding is classified as follows:

    1. Rough grinding or Non-precision grinding

    2. Precision grinding

    - Rough grinding is mainly used for removing excess material from casting, forging and weldments etc.

    - Precision grinding is used for cutting materials that are too hard to be machined by other conventional tools.

    - It is also (precision grinding) used for producing surfaces on parts to higher dimensional accuracy and to obtain finer finish.
