Roadmap for Effectively Tackling Cyber Crimes in the Country

Expert Group has submitted a “Roadmap for Effectively Tackling Cyber Crimes in the Country“ to the Home Minister on Tuesday after examining the international practices on cyber crime prevention. The centre will check attempts by global gangs to penetrate Indian government communication networks and advance application for Social media Analytics to monitor special media platforms in activities pertaining to the government organisations, departments and ministries. Committee also indicated government should reduce dependence on foreign servers and ensure a dedicated secure gateway for all government communication. Separate agency was also proposed for online cyber crime registration. Expert committee has also asked for changes in Evidence Act as per changing environment to prosecute cyber crimes, public awareness campaign, sensitisation of states and setting up of cyber forensic labs in states.
