    Rolling contact bearings:

    - These bearings are called as anti-friction bearings because low friction is offered by rolling contact bearings. The contacting surfaces have rolling contact between them. These bearings can take radial and axial load.

    - Ball bearings and roller bearings are the two types of rolling contact bearings depending upon the rolling elements.

    - Ball bearings use balls as rolling elements and roller bearings use cylindrical rollers, taper rollers or spherical rollers as rolling elements.

    - Ball bearings are further classified as single and double groove ball bearings, angular contact bearings, thrust ball bearings.

    - Roller bearings are classified as cylindrical roller bearings, needle roller bearings, taper roller bearings and taper roller thrust bearings.
