Sharad Pawar has indicated he would step down following six months as the Mumbai Cricket Association president following the ruling of the SC on age cap of 70 years for cricket administrators.
  • Lodha Committee has recommended there be caps on age and duration of tenure of elected office bearers of the BCCI and state associations.
  • Lodha Committee is entrusted with the task of overseeing the implementation of the recommendations and secretary Gopal Sankaranarayanan had warned if BCCI or any other cricket control board disobeys the report, they will be guilty of contempt of court.
  • Pawar was chairman of the BCCI from 2005-2008 and president of the ICC from 2010-2012.
