    - A software product is made of many artifacts and it would be practically impossible to remember the version numbers of all these artifacts required for building a product.

    - In some cases, the artifacts are created and base lined for some customer and may be considered as defects if they are present in the deliverable to other customers.

    - The typical scenario in a product-based organization is that for satisfying the customer-specific requirements,some features are modified or customized as per specific requirements.

    - Afterwards, the same artifacts are updated as per requirements of some other customer.

    - Labelling can help in identifying the customer-specific customisation in such a scenario where for building a particular product, the artifacts of a particular label are called.

    - These may not be the latest versions available in the configuration library but tool will generate these old files for building the product as per some label.
