    Smoke tube boilers

    - In smoke tube boilers, hot flue gases flowing through the tubes are surrounded by water on the outer surface.

    - These boilers have low evaporation rates because they have large water to steam ratio. Due to high ratio of water and steam, the temperature stresses which cause failure of feed water arrangement are minimum.

    - These boilers are slow in operations. They work upto 20 bar pressure as they have large drum diameter and have limitations in thickness and stress considerations of boiler shell.

    - Smoke tube boilers are not suitable for large power houses as these are made of smaller sizes and has surface design rigid
