Fluid dynamics deals with the study of forces due to which motion in fluid occur. Whereas, fluid kinematics deals with only the study of motion of fluid without considering the forces which produces the motion. Fluid static deals with the study of fluid in rest.

Fluid dynamics is based on the fundamental principles of Newton's second law of motion which explains that the resultant force on the fluid element is directly proportional to the rate of change of momentum and takes place in the direction of motion.
