    - The cutting tool in centre lathe is moved accordingly against the job which is to be machined.

    - As shown in below diagram, if tool moves perpendicular to the axis of rotation of workpiece, it produces a flat surface and if tool moves parallel to the axis of rotation of workpiece, it produces a cylindrical surface.

    I think when spindle rotate it will produce cylindrical surface
