    - A software failure may depend on various factors.

    - As a Project Manager all the knacks possible should be used to minimize the risk of software failure.

    - The best way to minimize the risk of software failure is to Track the Progress of the software.

    - There are various reasons as to why we need to track the progress of the software.

    - Some of them are as follows:

    1. Project Schedule
    - Questions such as are we hitting the milestone discussed initially on time and what are the 'critical path' milestones are discussed here.

    2. Risks of the project
    - The risks such as what might happen, how likely or severe is the problem and what can/should we do to solve that problem.
    - These risks can occur anytime and the time take by them to resolve is unpredictable.

    3. Resouces
    - To run any project we need people at different positions.
    - Problems such as less manpower, absence and unpredictable resignations is one of the biggest problem faced.
    - The budget is also one of the important resource.
    - The budget may increase or decrease according to the time taken by the completion of the project.
