    - Gas welding is a type of material addition process because some material is added at the joint of two metals in welding process.

    - The other different welding processes like electric arc welding, thermit welding, cold welding, brazing and soldering as well as mechanical joining processes like bolting and riveting are also the examples of material addition process.

    - Constant mass process is the process in which total mass of the workpiece remains constant throughout the process such as rolling, forging and wire drawing.

    - Material removal process is the process in which some material of workpiece is removed during the process such as all machine process like turning, milling, drilling etc.
