    According to uniform wear theory, the torque required to overcome friction between shaft and bearing surface is given as

    T = (1 / 2) μ W (R1 +R2)

    here,
    R1 = External radius of collar

    R2 = Internal radius of collar

    W = Axial load acting on the bearing

    μ = Coefficient of friction.
