Wood contains 40-45 % cellulose so Cellulose can beused to produce rayon, an important fiber that has been used for textiles since the beginning of the 20th century as well as paperboard and paper. Now a days research is undergoing to convert cellulose into biofuels such as cellulosic ethanol.
