    - Metals are joined without use of any solder in welding process by application of heat.

    - Advantages of welding process are as follows:

    - Welding equipments are not very costly

    - Welding results in residual stresses and distortion of workpiece.

    - As there is no use of any solder in welding process, major number of metals or alloys both similar and dissimilar can be joined by welding.
