    - The plastics which require heat and pressure to mould them into shape are called as thermosetting materials.

    - Once a thermosetting material is set and hardened, it cannot be resoftened.

    - The thermosetting materials are used in production by moulding of components which require rigidity, strength and some resistance to heat.

    - They are generally resins formed by condensation. They have three dimensional molecular structure and very high molecular weight.
