Documentation deals with the clarification of product capabilities and functions. Depending on the prospect of applications, documentation is classified into architectural, technical, end-user and marketing types.

An architectural documentation represents an overview of software, which consists of relations with system environment and construction principles. Hence, it is also referred as 'Design Documentation'. It specifies the reasons for the construction of particular class in a particular manner, highlights the patterns and outline notions for further improvement.

Since the design process in architectural perspective is accomplished with an assistance of a software, hence the overview of software is necessary. Also, system environment gets affected due to implementation of construction principles because they are inter-connectively related to each other.
