    - Micro-structure containing 0.8% carbon shows 100% resolved pearlite. The mixture of α-ferrite and cementite is known as pearlite.

    - It is a two phased, lamellar structure which is composed of alternating layers of ferrite and cementite. Pearlite contains 88 % of ferrite and 12% of cementite by weight.

    - This micro-structure occurs in grades of steel.
