    - In triangular section, maximum shear stress does not act on the neutral axis but occurs at a distance of h/2.

    - Maximum shear stress at neutral axis is given as

    τ = (8/3) (S/bh) = 2.66 (S/bh)

    S is the shear force, b is the base and H is the height of triangle.
