- At free end, the cantilever beam deflects by maximum angle θ and y is the maximum deflection.
- The slope and deflection at free end is maximum.
- The slope and deflection at fixed end is zero.
- The vertical distance between axis of beam before and after loading at a point is known as deflection.
- The curvature of bending beam is given as
θ = (ML) / (2 EI)
here, EI is the flexural rigidity
