    - Ball bearings and roller bearings are the two types of rolling contact bearings depending upon the rolling elements.

    - Ball bearings use balls as rolling elements and roller bearings use cylindrical rollers, taper rollers or spherical rollers as rolling elements.

    - Due to point contact between inner race and ball, load carrying capacity of ball bearings is low.

    - Roller bearings have load carrying capacity as they have line contact between inner race and roller.
