    Radiation pyrometer: In this method, temperature is measured without having any contact with the process. Radiation pyrometers work on the principle of Stefan Boltzmann's law.

    - According to this law, everybody emits electromagnetic heat radiation and the total radiation emitted by a black body is given as:

    q = σε T4

    here, ε = emissivity, σ = Stefan Boltzmann's constant, T = Temperature (Kelvin)

    - They are used to measure high temperatures of gases and vapors.
