A release candidate is a milestone which is achieved after a zero bug bounce. Some of their features are:
a. A release candidate has all the components it needs to go into production.

b. Building a release candidate tests it for fitness for release.

c. Testing release candidates flushes out showstoppers or fatal errors.

d. Test period following the release of a candidate determines if the release candidate is ready for release into production or development team needs to prepare another release candidate with bug fixes.

d. Testing release candidates is done internally and needs focused and intensive amount of effort.

Quiet period is the time between deployment stable and deployment complete milestones. The team is no longer active but will definitely respond to issue in 15-30 days (quiet period)..........
