LMS
  • LMS is an acronym for “Learning Management System”.
  • Learning Management System is a web-based technology which is commonly used to deliver and track training courses.
  • LMS provides the simplest platform for managing the experience of students or trainees as they interact with e-learning content.
  • It is not capable of creating a content; rather it manages the content developed by various sources.
  • An LMS allows registered users to access online courses and makes it easy to enter, track, manage, and report on learning activities and competencies in an organization.
  • The LMS users are the learner.
LCMS
  • LCMS is an acronym for “Learning Content Management System”.
  • Learning Content Management System is used to create, manage and maintain the learning content. Content can be audio, video, graphics, PowerPoint files, PDF files, written text, etc.
  • It allows multiple associates to work together to create content that can then be published in a variety of formats.
  • LCMS also have the capability to store the content and deliver older versions whenever required.
  • The LCMS user is the learning content creator.
