What is the purpose of personal data refresh process? What are the different modes of running this process? How is this process setup to load specific data sets as delivered?Personal data refresh process is used to populate the PERSONAL_DATA table. Post 8.8 version, this table has become a main reporting table. Previously it was a view. This is heavily used for reporting purposes to extract the personal detail for employees. This process is run in 2 modes. One is a full refresh which will first populate the data in a temp table which is a clone of PERSONAL_DATA and then it will truncate the PERSONAL_DATA table and copy data over from the temporary table. Second process is a delta process. This is used to sync the data for future dated transactions. When this process runs, it checks all future effective dated personal information tables for an employee. If the date in future has become current, it will load the employee information in PERSONAL_DATA table. Under Setup HRMS -> System Administration -> Database processes -> PERSONAL_DATA settings, admin can decide what information needs to be loaded in this table. Options are Smoker data, campus solution data, primary phone data, installed countries data and US federal data.
