how do we solve it...! pretty simple as we have to solve for principle amount
now as we know the formula
AMT = P + SI
AMT = P + PRT/100
400 = P + (P*3*5)/100
400 * 100 = 100P + 15P
40000 = 115P
P = 40000/115
P = 347.8

So, 347.8 is the answer

A = P + SI
A= P + P.R.T/100
A =P(1+R.T/100)
400= P(1+15/100)
400=23P/20
P=400*20/23
P= 347.8
