Explain Software Testing. Why is it important to conduct the testing of a software?

- Software testing is verifying if a software meets the customer's requirements; if it has high quality; if it is bug free and if it is fit for use.

- It can also be stated as the process of validated and verifying a software program or application.

Some of the reasons to conduct testing of a software are:

1. Testing is important because it ensures that the product delivered is defect free which in turn emphasizes higher quality and proves to be cost effective.

2. To point out the defects and the errors made during the development phase.

3. To make sure of the customers reliability and satisfaction of the application.

4. To ensure the quality of the product.

5. To ensure the effective performance of the product.

6. To ensure that the product does not fail as it can be very expensive in the future to repair them.

7. It is required to stay in the business.
