Its last some days for the MBA aspirants to give a final shot to their preparations for XAT 2015, to be conducted on 4th January 2015. XAT is an entrance exam for admission in institutes of the Xavier family (XLRI).

Since, less than 10 days are left for this exam, one must do a planned study in these last few days. Here are some useful tips for you to give a final touch to your yearlong preparation.

1. Take a mock test everyday – Being in the last few days of preparation, you should start taking mock test every day from now. Practicing mock papers will help you synchronize between the printed booklet of a test paper and the OMR answer sheet.

This becomes all the more relevant and important as it has been noticed that students try filling OMR answer sheets in the last few minutes. The last minute hurry up makes them commit mistake in the order of questions. And thus, all the yearlong hard work results in zero result.

2. Focus on your strong areas- It is always good to focus on your strong areas than wasting a lot of time on weaker sections. While solving mock papers you should try finding out you weaker areas too. Strong sections can be further strengthened and you can try to make weaker areas strong in the left out time.

3. Practice time management - Time management practice is a must that you should concentrate on in the last few days of examination. Take some timed tests and try solving the mock papers like you are solving the main exam paper. This will make you more confident before you appear for the mains.

4. Balance all sections- Try out giving time to all sections, don't waste all your time on the one section that you are already perfect at. Most of the students get stuck at Essay writing and Reading Comprehensions (RC) as these sections are more time consuming.

5. Get well versed with RC section- You can get well versed in the RC section by reading the editorials, articles in the newspaper on a regular basis. All through the year you should work on building up your vocabulary which you can revise in these last few days.

6. Brush up your general awareness - General awareness is one of the tricky sections because we always get confused what to study in this area. Usually, most of the questions are based on the happenings of last six months. Some questions are based on common books, prizes and awards. Keep yourself up to date with the list.

7. Practice essay writing in 20 minutes- You should pick up a general topic every day and try writing essay on it in 20 minutes, as it is the time provided in examination. The purpose of the essay writing is to check your thought process, so concentrate on the logistics you are providing on the topic.

8. Practicing previous year XAT papers is a must - Do not forget to have a look at the question papers of last five years available on the XAT official website. It has been observed that most of the questions are on the same pattern as previous years.

9. Gather all necessities- Keep all the necessary things required for the exam ready before hand. Don't wait for the last moment to download your admit card. Last moment hurry messes everything and taking such kind of risk is not at all advisable.

10. Relax yourself- Finally, give your mind and body some relaxation one day before the exam.
