About interview boards of UPSC personality test

I have heard that some interview boards are liberal while awarding marks and there are others that are not-so-generous and most likely to be strict. In case I stumble upon the later, what should be my approach while answering them?

The classification of interview boards being generous and strict is a mere apprehension which the candidates must not be thinking about when they are about to face an interview. The decision of the board that shall be allotted to the candidate is kept confidential until the last moment and there is nothing one can do about changing this or the way your answers must be deliberated according to this apprehensive classification. This is merely an anticipation which can do no good if you don’t stop pondering on it sooner. You should prepare to be honest about your own perspective, since that shall matter the most, regardless of the disposition of board that you shall be facing. This futile opinion can lead to negative approach, which you should avoid absolutely. Tell yourself that you are going to be liberal and honest no matter what. The interview boards are fair and the marks allotted is entirely based on your performance in the interview. It is also believed that some part of the marks is kept for the decision of the chairperson and members of the UPSE so avoid any sort of partiality. Be positive and maintain that spirit throughout the interview. Good luck!
