Birlasoft is the part of the giant CK Birla group which provides Global IT Services. Founded in the year 1995, Birlasoft is a leading global information service provider.

With 4000 plus employees, the company has its foothold on global locations with delivery centres in China and India. Birlasoft focuses on innovation and learning. Brilasoft provides IT services, consulting and enterprise solutions, asset management and service management.

Eligibility Criteria

• The students should be pursuing BE, B.Tech or MCA.

• The student should have minimum 60% marks SCC onwards with no active backlogs.

Placement Process

The placement process for Birlasoft consists of three rounds:

• Written Test

• Group Discussion

• Technical and Personal Interview

Written Test

The written test consists of 50 questions with the time limit of one hour to solve the test. The student should avoid answering questions which they are not sure of. There is a negative marking of ¼ marks for each wrong answer.

The written test is not the same every year and is changed by the company. It has been seen that the written test generally follows the following pattern.

The written test is divided in three parts:

• The first part consists of questions from English.

• The second part consists of questions from quantitative aptitude.

• The third part consists of technical questions.

In the English section the students can expect questions based on idioms, phrases, comprehension, antonyms, and synonyms. In the quantitative aptitude section the student can expect elementary mathematical and logical questions.

In the technical section, the student can expect questions based on programming. Questions will be also asked on Java, C and C++. The students can also expect questions based on DBMS in this round.

Group Discussion

The students who clear the written test qualify for the group discussion round. The interviewer will judge the students alertness in this round.

The students command over English will also be gauged by the interviewer. In this round general topics are given for discussion.

HR and Technical Interview

The students who clear the group discussion round qualify for the HR and technical interview. This is the final round of the selection process.

The students can expect questions based on the details mentioned in their resume. The students are expected to introduce themselves. The HR will ask questions such as, why are you willing to join Birlasoft, are you comfortable with night shift, what do you know about Birlasoft?

There is no separate technical round. Along with the other basic HR questions, the students can also expect questions such as:

• Explain the oops concept?
• Explain sort array using pointers?
• Explain calloc?
• Explain malloc?

In order to clear the technical and HR interview the students must have a clear idea about the company. He or she should read about the company profile before attending the interview. The student should also have sound technical knowledge.
