Which are the courses in Aqua Culture at different levels?


Degrees allow career aspirants to learn about various subjects of marine and fishery industry or the industry related to aquaculture. These courses include inland and freshwater aquaculture, commercial fish production technology, fish cultivation and its preservation, fish processing and harvesting technology, and controlled environment storage of fresh and processed seafood. The degree courses are as follows:

- B.S or B.A – is an under graduate degree which is required for fresher jobs like laboratory technician or resources management. This requires 10+2 pass with subjects like Physics, chemistry, biology or geology and maths. It requires good scores as well.

- M.S. or M.A. or Ph.D is a post graduation degree which is required for jobs like teaching, research and management level positions in both government and private. It requires a graduate degree in science or higher degree related to the field chosen for post graduation.

- Diploma courses are offered in various subjects of aquaculture like Mariculture. It requires 10+2 with knowledge of biology, physics, maths, chemistry.

What is the pay package after having a degree in aquaculture?


The pay package is dependent on lots of factors like geographic location, education, experience, and the type of occupation. Freshers or contract basis employees are offered hourly wages and people having experience and working full-time gets more benefits and the salary range also remains higher.

- The Starting pay package of fresher ranges between Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 25,000 per month depending on the qualification, performance, and skills.

- Supervisors who are in farming can get the salary between Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 25,000 per month depending on the qualification, performance and skills.

- Teachers in aquaculture can get the salary between Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 30,000 per month depending on the UGC guidelines and their qualifications.

- Research fellow can get the salary between Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 15,000 per month depending on the qualification and the research area.
