Rampur Zila Sahakari bank launches Rupay Kissan Credit Card
Rampur Zila Sahakari bank in Orissa launched Kissan Credit Card of Rupay for small farmers and has become the first bank in the country to make KCC payment through Rupay. Rupay is the first Indian payment service provider by National payment Corporation of India (NPCI). Except it, all the other payment system like Master Card or Maestro is from U.S.A.
First auto city of India
The Tamil Nadu govt. is planning to set up the first ever auto city of India under the auto mobile and auto component policy launched by the state govt. the theme of the city will be “Tamil Nadu, the partner in automotive sector investment”. The govt. will set up over 1,000 hectare industrial park for state and global automotive and auto-component firms.
Salary of non residential external rupee account to become non taxable
The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) in a recent judgment over tax payment in NRE account has passed an order that salary credited to any Indian’s NRE (non residential-external rupee) account in an India bank will not be taxable.
The rationale behind the decision was that the salary can’t be taxed in India if the services are provided outside the country. India has a large population that is working outside the country as blue collar workers. Their salary is credited either in half or full to the Indian account. This judgment is set to give them a big relief.
Justice K.T. Thomas to head the Lokpal search panel
Justice K.T. Thomas, a retired judge of Supreme Court is set to become the head of the Lokpal search panel. The Loksabha speaker, PM of India, leader of oposition and Justice H.L. Dattu, the representative of CJI of India formalized on the name of justice Thomas as the head of the panel.
The panel consists of 8 members including former Chief Election Commissioner S.Y. qureshi, former solicitor general Fali S. Nariman and many other renowned personalities.
