Do you think that incentives can portray any disadvantages?

A coin has two sides. Incentives do have many advantages but also a few disadvantages. The quality of work can get poor in order to achieve more incentives. Lot of supervision & maintenance of good quality is required. Also, it affects the actual work productivity. Employees tend to work less at times, so that the incentive schemes are introduced to complete the targeted work. It is difficult to measure the standard performance of the employees at times.

Incentive schemes are not introduced in the Education sector. Comment.

Incentive schemes are generally offered to the factory or industry workers, to motivate them to perform better & improve work quality & productivity. In education sector, teachers & professors are appointed to impart knowledge to the students. They don’t have any particular targets to achieve. It depends on students to accumulate as much knowledge as they can from all the available sources. The teaching staffs have to focus on the maintenance of the academic standards of the college or university. This is in their regular job profile. Hence, incentive schemes are not introduced in this sector.
