Eligibility to enter Biophysics and skills required to succeed
What is the eligibility for entrance in the course of Biophysics?
To study B.Sc. in Biophysics the candidate must have cleared higher secondary with at least 50% marks with English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science as subjects. Some of the universities also conduct common admission tests for entrance in the course. These courses are generally of three to four years duration.
After attaining the undergraduate degree in Biophysics or having Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Biology and Chemistry the candidate can join the masters and then a PhD level course in physics or a sub-discipline of Physics. Again universities give entrance to the candidates in these courses on the basis of admission tests.
Biophysicists who have done PhD can undergo post doctoral research in a university or government laboratory. In medical Biophysics, one to two years post degree clinical training is required.
