Farther vs Further
Farther – It is the comparative adjective of the word ‘far’, which means distant. So farther means more distant than a point.
For e.g.: 1. The State Bank of India is farther from my house than the bus stop.
2. The tourist group has lost their way; they are going farther from their destination.
Further – It is used in reference to distance, but in metaphoric terms and not in the physical sense.
For e.g.: 1. I am interested, let us take the matter further.
2. Guru does not want to take this marriage alliance any further.
