Project Details

PROJECT: UMTS (FEMTO)-Working in client location
Duration :( Oct ‘8 to till the date)

Description:

Femto Mobility Gateway is the Gateway that enables 3GPP compliant signaling between BSR cluster and a traditional GSM/GPRS/UMTS network. The BSR Femto (CPE) is a semi-network in a box, it combines all the key UMTS functions of a NodeB and an RNC into a single physical network element that connects to the Internet via the users home router FMG addresses the requirement of inter-operability between a legacy macro network and the BSR network.

Role:

As a Team Member,
-Test case preparation and review for Call processing, OAM and Performance measurement
-End to End testing in real environment with different release.
-Regression Testing
-HSDPA and HUSPA call testing.
-HSPA testing.
-Handover Testing (CS+PS).
-MPDP testing
-KPI Testing
-Testing of American 16 user femto with band class of 850 and 1900
-Testing of 16 user European femto with band class of 2100

Automation of call Testing Through U-Dragon.

-U-DRAGON is a client/server modelled tool. The server runs on Linux PC for better multi-user/multi-process handling.
-Mobile phones are connected directly to the server’s serial port or USB port. Therefore, the server controls the mobiles directly. -The server takes command from client on how to control the phones.

Role:

AS a Team Member,
-Installation of U-Dragon software.
-Made the LAB setup for 2 different boards (AE+EE).
-Call testing through Udragon.

PROJECT: Femto Mobility Gateway (FMG)
Duration: 10 months

Description:

-This project involves the development of softwares needed for a 3G mobility gateway.
-This Gateway enables 3GPP compliant signaling between a Base Station Router cluster and a traditional GSM/GPRS/UMTS network. -This is achieved by letting the Base Station Router cluster appear as a single virtual RNC to the traditional circuit core and as a single virtual SGSN to the traditional packet core network.
-This mobility gateway is an IP based, which has SIGTRAN protocol suite.

My Responsibilities:

-Involved in the Project Proposal of the 3GPP Femto Cell Implementation
-Involved in the Prototype Analysis of the 3GPP Femto Cell
-Involved in the Requirement Analysis and Testing of the End to End Call Processing Testing (BSR to CN)
-Involved in Written, Maintained, and Executed Test Plans, Test Cases, System Integration Testing.
-Performed different types of testing like Positive, Negative, Regression, Integration, System and Sanity testing.
-Involved in the Stack level testing of SCTP, M3UA, SCCP and RANAP.
-Involved in the Performance & Stability Analysis of calls between BSR & CN in Femto Network
-Involves in the Analysis of Logs created during the Call
-Involved in Testing of FMS – Femto (Operation, Administration & Maintenance) through the SNMP protocol.
-Involved in the Redundancy testing of the Femto Gateway.
-Strong Knowledge on 3G data call scenarios and different types of handover
-Involved in the DAP Testing (Interface Between the OAM & FMG)
-Involved in Daily, Weekly status report.
-Utilized PM Smart Defect Tracking System to track and monitor defects.

Significant Achievements

-Played a lead role in test data gathering, preparation and in project delivery.
-Identified and raised defects to improve quality of the product
-Proactively involved himself in requirement analysis and understanding specifications
-Contributed towards automation OAM CLI related test cases using shell scripting to minimize testing cycle time.

Environment: C on Linux (MIPS tool chain) CVS for source code management

Significant Achievements

-Configured Asterisk PBX server for interoperability between VoIP and analog TDM400P for client’s demo.
-Good verification skills – verified logs from Asterisk and reported technical details to development to fix the issues
