Flextronics Placement Experience and Process for Freshers - 2016

Flex Ltd. (previously known as Flextronics International Ltd. or Flextronics) is an American technological manufacturer. It is the second largest global electronics manufacturing services, original design services company by revenue, behind only Taiwan's Foxconn to original equipment manufacturers.

It is headquartered in Singapore founded by Joe McKenzie and Barbara Ann McKenzie in 1969.

The company visited our college to recruit candidates for Senior Analyst (Supply Chain Management) position.

200 students attended the process.

The selection process was carried out in four steps:

1. Written Test
2. GD Round
3. Technical Interview
4. HR Round

1. Written Test

The aptitude test included three sections – First section consisted of english grammar, analytical and logical.

Second section consisted of algorithms and third section was questions from C and C++.

After completion of aptitude test we were provided with a separate question paper on Supply Chain Management which consisted of 10 questions.

95 students were shortlisted for the Group Discussion.

2. GD Round

This round was a bit difficult. Selected students were divided in a group and given a topic related to current affairs, like “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”, “Do we really need a smart city?”, “How effective has been NITI Aayog?” etc.

They selected 40 students out of 90.

3. Technical Interview

There were two rounds in technical interview.

In the first round we were asked about our project, some questions on C, Data Structures (Union), C++ (Polymorphism, Inheritance), SQL queries, difference between RDBMS & DBMS, concept of HTML and PHP (as it was written on my resume).

In the second round, they asked about system software, implementation of stack program and questions based on our subjects.

Only 25 students made it to the HR round.

4. HR Round

Our HR interview went easy and smooth. We were asked basic questions related to self-introduction, preferred place, expected salary, our hobbies and extra-curricular activities.

We were also asked about the night shifts job.

This round was not an elimination round for us.

Finally, 25 students were selected for the company.

Tips:
  • Prepare your analytical and algorithms sections well. You can expect some difficult questions from these two.
  • Go through the Supply Chain Management chapter thoroughly. They conduct separate test on it.
  • For GD Round, prepare Current Affairs, read newspapers to be updated.
  • In technical interview, you can expect most of the questions from C++ and SQL queries.
  • Most of the time interviewer asks questions about relocation and night shifts. Make sure you answer according to your comfort. Don't say “Yes” for the sake of securing the job.
