GCET - Gujarat Common Entrance Test

Introduction to GCET


GCET – Gujarat Common Entrance Test is conducted by Gujarat Technical University on an annual basis for admission to MBA and MCA courses in Gujarat. The test is conducted between March and August every year.

Who’s Eligible?


a.) Candidates who have graduated from a recognised university located in Gujarat State are eligible to appear for GCET.

b.) If you have graduated from a university our of Gujarat but have passed you Std. XII from a recognised school in Gujarat you are eligible for the test

c.) Non-resident Gujarati candidates passing the qualifying examination from States other than Gujarat and Gujarati-NRI candidates shall be eligible for admission to management quota of private unaided institutes only.

d.) Minimum sore in qualifying exam – 50% for general candidates, 45% for SC/ST candidates.

e.) Candidates appearing for final year exam of the 3 year degree course are eligible to take the test and seek provisional admission.

How’s the test conducted?


- GCET is a written test comprising of sections on quantitative ability, reasoning, data interpretation, reading comprehension, verbal ability, and general knowledge.

- The candidates shortlisted through the written test for MBA need to go through GD and PI

- The test is conducted in both English as well as Gujarati.

- 25% negative marking for the wrong answer.
