General instructions to be followed by candidates at IBPS

What are the general instructions need to be followed by the candidates?


1. At the time of online examination, candidate has to submit call letter and a
photocopy of photo-identity proof. Without these documents candidate is not allowed to appear for the online examination.

2. If any candidate applies for more than one post in officer cadre scale I, II and III, then the application of such candidate is rejected.

3. Before applying for the post candidate should read in the advertisement very carefully and should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria and other norms.

4. IBPS has the right to reject any application and at any stage of the process if the eligibility criteria is not fulfilled by the candidate. Any correspondence or personal enquiries in this matter is not entertained.

5. IBPS has the right to cancel or modify or add any of the criteria or course curriculum, test structures etc. with or without notice to the candidate.

6. Candidate should not submit multiple applications for a single post. If more than one application for a post is found then applications/registrations is rejected and application fee is forfeited.

7. Candidates are not allowed to withdraw the application once registered and application fee/intimation charges once paid is not refunded nor held in reserve for any other examination.

8. At any stage of the process if it is found that the candidate has given wrong information or has suppressed any information then his/her candidature is rejected and cancelled. If any of the shortcomings are found even after appointment in a Bank then his/her services is cancelled.

9. Request for the change of address is not entertained.

10. Scanned photograph and signature used in the application form or in the call letter, attendance sheet etc. should be identical in all respect with the photograph and signature in all future correspondences with the IBPS/Bank.

11. Any request for the change in date/venue/time/center etc. is not entertained. IBPS holds the right to change date/venue/time etc. if any unforeseen circumstances arise.

12. If any candidate reports late as that specified in the call letter then he/she may not be allowed to take the examination.

13. Even though duration of the examination is 150mins/180mins, candidates may be required to be in venue for about 4 hours as it takes time for verification, collection of documents, logging in, giving off instructions etc.
