Getting all facilities over Internet will make the people more isolated and less social friendly.

Getting all facilities over Internet will make the people more isolated and less social friendly.

Do you agree with the statement? Take a stand and build up your arguements around it.

Man is a social animal. But if the part ‘social’ is removed from his life, there will not be much difference between him and an animal.

Internet surfing or browsing internet was supposed to be a game changer helping people to communicate more and better. This was further accentuated by the onslaught of mobile phones and laptops. On the contrary, the virtual world where one can do everything from playing games to reading books along with chatting with people has reduced communication between people.

The allure of internet has made people couch potatoes. One can sit, lie down or slouch for hours and can go on browsing the internet. Take for instance, a simple exercise like purchasing weekly groceries. A plethora of websites now provide the option to customers for ordering all the possible things needed for home at the click of a button. The convenient option of paying through credit or debit cards and cash on delivery makes it a hassle free experience.

But, what can possibly be the problem if so much convenience is available to human beings!!! Firstly, people are so engrossed in the virtual world that they have started forgetting the real world. Since people stay at home and interact less, they have become less social friendly. May it be participation in the community or even helping out fellow beings, the influence of internet is clearly visible as people not only avoid going out but are also apprehensive about the world outside.

Secondly, the time meant for friends and family has been eaten away by the Internet. The comfort of chatting from anywhere and everywhere has led to people meeting less resulting in less quality time with friends and family.

The advent of social media in our lives has heightened the isolation further. People are so busy in following other people’s lives over social media as well as updating their profile or uploading pictures that they may not know who their next door neighbor is.

Weekends were meant to shopping outside or playing outdoor games or just a good family outing. But, the internet has changed this as well. While children are playing games on internet, parents are involved in chatting over mobile phones or browsing internet for latest offers on various e-commerce websites.

A new invention brings along both positive and negative effects. The internet may have resulted in augmenting the comforts and convenience of humans but has insidiously made them so dependent and addicted that they are forgetting their own brethren. The realization of this impact must dawn on them sooner before they turn into living robots.
