I have to prepare for IAS exam. What subjects should I choose in BA to become an IPS officer?

You should hold a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university in order to appear for IAS exam.

There are 2 stages, preliminary examination and Main examination. On successful completion of prelim exam, you are eligible to sit for Main exam.

In Main examination there are 9 papers and you have to choose the subjects in main examination on the basis of Graduation.

The Question Papers III to IX will be set both in Hindi and English.

Paper - I one of the Indian Languages
Paper - II English
Paper - III Essay
Paper - IV & V General Studies
Paper - VI,VII,VIII & IX Any two optional Subjects


Optional subjects:

Any two subjects (each having 2 papers) to be selected from the 25 optional subjects given Below (300 marks for each paper)

  • I passed 12 this year by science(PCM).
    Want 2 prepare for IAS.
    I choose BA for graduation.
    I choose one optional subject MATHEMATICS.
    which other two subjects should l choose in BA for the better benifit in the syllabus of IAS(GS-1,GS-2, GS-3, GS-4.)?
    Plz help me as soon as possible.
