NMAT 2014 - NMIMS Management Aptitude Test

Introduction to NMAT


NMAT, NMIMS Management Aptitude Test is the famous entrance test for admission to MBA curriculum at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. NMAT is conducted over a period of 3 months and allows students to take 2 retests. The best of 3 scores is considered for final short-listing.

NMAT does not have a negative marking. NMAT score is required for admission to all the MBA programs and Doctoral program of NMIMS.

Who’s Eligible?


- To be eligible for NMAT, a candidate should possess a three years Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and should have scored minimum 50% aggregate marks. He/ She should have cleared the degree in first attempt.

- Candidates appearing for final year of their degree exam are also eligible to write the test and secure a admission on provisional basis subject to meeting the 50% score and first attempt clearance criteria.

- Candidates who have cleared their graduation through a part-time course or through distance learning, correspondence courses, externally, open school are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.

- The institute prefers 2 years of post qualification work experience

- Foreign students/ Persons of Indian Origins/ wards of Persons of Indian Origin are admitted to NMIMS based on their GMAT score.

How’s the test conducted?


- NMAT is a computer based test conducted through out the country in a period of three months.

- The test consists of questions on data interpretation, Language Skills, Data Sufficiency, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning.

- Those candidates who are not happy with their first attempt can appear for two re-tests. Their best of 3 scores are considered for the selection.

- It is important to pay attention to your both sectional as well as overall performance as the final list is prepared taking these scores into consideration. The division of questions section wise is as below:

Language Skills - 32 questions in 22 minutes
Quantitative Skills - 48 questions in 60 minutes
Logical Reasoning - 40 questions in 38 minutes
Total - 120 questions in 120 minutes

- The shortlisted candidates are invited for a Case Discussion and Personal Interview.
- The final list is prepared considering your Academic marks, NMAT score, Work experience, Case Discussion and PI score.

- Scheduling - 17th July, 2013 to 2nd October, 2013

- Rescheduling - 17th July, 2013 to 15th December, 2013

- Test Delivery - 5th October, 2013 to 18th December, 2013

- Retake Scheduling - 5th October, 2013 - Tuesday, 17th December, 2013
