Participative Management style is better than the Autocratic style of Management. Comment.


In Participative Management, a manager encourages input and feedback from his team members and bases his decisions in accordance to their views. Individuals feel valued because their opinions are taken into consideration. The entire team takes ownership of a project because of each team member's individual contributions. Hence, the whole team is accountable for its success or failure.

Whereas, a manager who adopts the autocratic approach exerts his authority over the group members to get things done. The autocratic manager doesnt consider his team's opinion in either ways. At times, this style of management proves effective but generally creates bitterness amongst the employees.
