Qualification and entrance exams to enter into engineering and architecture

What are the qualification criteria?


Engineering, Architecture are technical field of study. So to be an architect or an engineer one must earn a professional degree in architecture or in engineering.
There are many colleges and universities in India and abroad offering degree, post graduate degree and even research program in this field of study.
However the entry criteria to pursue the degree course one must have basic study of 10+2 with physics, chemistry and math as compulsory from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 50% marks.

Beside this, the candidate must qualify an entrance examination to pursue the B.Tech or B.Arch degree course from good reputed college or institute.

What is the age bar?


There is no age to become an engineer, an architect or a designer. Minimum requirement is the professional degree and knowledge.

Entrance exam in India to pursue degree course?


The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) conducts a national level entrance examination- All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) on an All India basis to pursue the undergraduate programmes.

Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT's) conducts the national level Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for entry into undergraduate programmes. Also, the Private institutes conduct entrance exams of their own and similarly different states also hold separate entrance exams for admission to architecture and engineering colleges in the state.
