What is CART?

What is CART and is it beneficial for me to take this exam if I want to enter retail management?

As the popularity of retail management courses increased in India, a body was formed to conduct an examination. Retailers Association of India (RAI), the first independent body of retailers in India, conducts a Common Admission Retail Test (CART) on national basis for admission to Post-graduate Program in Retail Management (PGPRM) offered in 15 B-schools across India.

The objective of the test is to assess the candidate’s aptitude for retail management education, including Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Consumer Comprehension. CART is the first country-wide entrance examination for admission to Post-graduate programme in retail management. It is basically conducted by RAI towards the end of January every year for admission to RAI’s post-graduate programme in retail management (PGPRM). It is held in more than 25 centres across India. This was designed to help streamlining the admission process to retail management courses in India.

It is beneficial for you if you want to enter retail management as CART gives you an opportunity to do so and that too in a good college or institute with good job prospects. Giving CART would get you good institutes which are government aided. Thus, giving this entrance exam is advisable for all the aspirants.
