Human resource planning is the process of developing and determining objectives, policies and programs that will develop utilize and distribute manpower so as to achieve the goals of the organization. The main purpose of manpower planning is to secure the availability of specific types of people with the skills, experience and background necessary to meet the company’s forthcoming objectives. Manpower planning is influenced by several considerations. The type of organization is important consideration because is determines the production process involved, number and type of staff needed and supervisory and managerial personnel required. Organizational growth cycle also influence the manpower planning. Other factors like environmental uncertainties, labour market, and outsourcing also effect manpower planning.
