What is the career-path towards becoming a Prosthetic and Orthotic Engineer? I am in 10+2 Science and aspire to makes a career as a Prosthetic and Orthotic Engineer. What are the early preparations for this career and which are the best institutes where I could study for this career after 10+2?

Prosthetic and Orthotic Engineering is a medico-engineering course which prepares you to treat physically disabled, crippled and orthopedically handicapped people. After 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, you can go for a diploma course of two year duration or degree course of 4½ years in Prosthetic and Orthotic Engineering. You will be selected into the best colleges through their respective entrance tests. At the end of the course there will be 6 months of practical internship.
