What welfare measures are taken in factories according to factories act 1948?


Workers are provided with following welfare activities in a factory:

a. adequate and suitable facilities for washing shall be provided and maintained for use of the workers;

b. Suitable place for keeping cloths not worn during working hours and for the drying of wet clothing shall be maintained

c. In every factory suitable arrangements for sitting shall be provided and maintained

d. First-aid-appliances shall be provided and maintained

e. When more than two hundred and fifty workers are ordinarily employed, a canteen or canteens shall be provided and maintained for the use of the workers.

f. In every factory where more than thirty women workers are ordinarily employed there shall be provided and maintained a suitable crèche for the use of children under the age of six years.
