The university will start specialized courses at the Post Graduate level related to rail technology. This institute will help the Indian Railways in developing cutting-edge indigenous technologies and turn as a net exporter of such technologies.

SAFAR is an acronym for System of Air Quality Weather Forecasting and Research which was first launched in Delhi in 2010 during the Commonwealth Games. At present the App service is available only for Pune and Delhi city and it will be available in Mumbai by May 2015.

Mridaparikshak is a digital mobile quantitative minilab/soil test kit to provide soil testing service at farmers’ doorsteps and determines all the important soil parameters i.e. soil pH, EC, organic carbon, available nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur and micronutrients like zinc, boron and iron.

▼ Prithvi II, India's indigenous surface to surface missile successfully launched   [02-24-15]

Prithvi-II has a strike range of 350 km and is 8.56 metres in length, 110 cm in girth and weighs 4,600 kg. It is thrusted by liquid propulsion twin engines and uses advanced inertial guidance system with manoeuvring trajectory. The Prithvi-II missile, developed by the DRDO, has already inducted into the Indian Armed forces.

BrahMos has a range of 290 km and can carry a conventional warhead of up to 300 kg.

This 19 Crore Rupee project funded by the Union government will help in connecting 114 police stations in the state besides 13 district headquarters, 26 sub-divisional police officers and three police ranges. Himachal was the first state in the country to launch this project prepared by the Union Home Ministry after Mumbai attack of 26/11.

▼ Silk worm egg cold storage plant launched in Mysore   [02-24-15]

Up to 1.0 crore disease free layings (dfls) can be comfortably preserved in this plant. In effect, with this plant, the total storage capacity of the Mysore facility would go up to 1.5 crore dfls. Cold Storage Plants are indispensable in silkworm egg production system, principally to enable uninterrupted and continuous supply of basic and commercial silkworm seed.

Inaugurating the service in Varanasi, Union IT and Telecommunication Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that eight more Ghats of the city will be equipped with WiFi connectivity in the coming months. ▼ Raad- Indigenously developed test missile developed and testfired by Pakistan on 2ndFebruary 2015   [02-23-15]

On 2nd Feb’15, Pakistan conducted a successful flight test of the indigenously developed Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM), Raad. The Raad missile, with a range of 350 kilometres, will enable Pakistan to achieve strategic standoff capability on land and sea.
