What is WTLS?

- Wireless Transport Layer Security (WTLS) is a security protocol that resides between WTP and WDP layers in the WAP communications stack.

- WTLS uses semantics adapted for a low bandwidth mobile device.

- In this packet sizes are reduced by using bit-fields, defines a compressed certificate format (smaller X.509 v3 structure). A few of the algorithms is it uses are: RSA, ECC, DES, Triple DES, RC5, MD5, SHA1, etc.
