Functional dependency

The above statement is true. An attribute B has a functional dependency on attribute A (A -> B, A determines B) if, for each value of attribute A, there is exactly one value of attribute B. That is, the value in the column B is determined by the value in column A. If value of A is repeating in tuples then value of B will also repeat.
