JDBC Driver

JDBC is a Java-based data access technology (Java Standard Edition platform) and used to provide the database connectivity through which the clients can access the applications. JDBC also provides the API through which it defines how a client may access a database. It provides methods for querying and updating data in a database.

The answer of the above question is:

1) registerDriver() method - provides the functionality to register the drivers so that they can function properly and don't have to be changed or installed again and again
2) Class.forName() - is having the value as string and used to load the JDBC driver class.

Class.forName( "com.somejdbcvendor.TheirJdbcDriver" );
